Monday already?

You know what's super annoying? When you spend all week planning to be productive on the weekend, but exhaustion and other commitments completely prevent you from getting almost anything done. Guess who that happened to this weekend. It's almost tempting enough to consider using a PTO day this week, but I only have so many of them and I have about a billion weddings coming up in the fall, so I want to try to save them for when I will really want to use them!

You know, I'm actually a firm believer that sometimes, you just have to take care of yourself first. Maybe my history of panic attacks is what makes me really force myself (not that it often takes much convincing) to have at least one day a week in which I don't do anything at all. I really think that's what helps me keep my sanity most of the time. When you're as busy as I am, having one day a week where you're not working from 9 am until 9 pm is really a pretty luxurious and incredible thing.

Oh, who knows. I'll probably be kicking myself tonight after work, when I'm trying to catch up on all the things I should have done this weekend. But that's the other thing that having panic attacks has taught me: There's no use worrying about the future if you can't do anything to change it now. So stop worrying, and cross that bridge when you come to it.

This really isn't the direction I saw this post going today. Oops. And oh well :)

  1. I totally know what you mean. I suffer from panic attacks too (thankfully haven’t had one in a year or so) and when you’re feeling out of control and off balance, sometimes there’s just nothing you can do. Remember, one thing at a time. Good luck this week!

  2. Wise commentary on life. And a pretty outfit! While ostensibly simple, it flows and works beautifully. I especially like how the well-fit pants reveal the cute shoes at exactly the right point. Nicely constructed.

  3. Great outfit! I'm lovin' the scarf and shirt colour combination. And your hair looks so cute! I like the bangs :)
And it's true, there's no use worrying about things you can't change.. Sometimes it's hard but you just gotta let it be. :)

  4. You're so right - there is no use worrying about something you can't change. My mom always told me, why think about something today when you can think about it tomorrow (a procrastinators moto, but always pretty great way to stop yourself from going crazy)

    PS. Absolutely loving those pumps!

  5. I love this scarf. And wonderful sentiment.
I had the same type of Saturday. I was supposed to go out with friends but I'd been working late so much, and getting so little sleep I decided to stay home and veg out a little. Indulged in some video games and naps ;)
