This year, Matt is currently en route to Louisiana for work. We did celebrate last weekend, and I came home last night to a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for me, so I suppose things could be worse :)
Still. I definitely have a love-hate relationship with the holiday, and I think I somehow channeled that into my outfit today. There's a good balance of cynical black and romantic pink and red, haha.
button-up and sweater: New York & Company
skirt: The Limited
tights: Target
pumps: thrifted
necklace: Tiffany & Co (gift from my aunt)
I have to say, I've never been a big fan of the pink and red combo that's so trendy right now. Not sure why, but it's always kind of bugged me. But when I woke up this morning, I decided to face the EBEW challenge head on, stretching myself ever so slightly out of my comfort zone. And you know what? I don't hate it.
hahaha hilarious! you still look great!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you have mixed feelings about the day, but I understand why. The outfit is cute.
ReplyDeleteLove that red skirt!
ReplyDeletei think you look fabulous! even if you don't like the day and don't like red and pink...you worked them both! kids these days have to give everyone in their class a valentine, which i think is nice.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you did the red and pink! I went super bold and I'm not sure I like it, but I really like how you broke it up with the sweater and wore a lighter shade of pink. :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I found your blog by participating in the recent BDIB challenge Love how you styled your red. Cute blog!! Please visit mine if you get a chance. Have a wonderful day!!

Beautiful flowers. This is the first year that my fiance and I made a mutual decision not to celebrate Valentine's Day and to be honest I kind of missed it even though I didn't think I would. I love the way you styled pink and red together.
ReplyDeleteAwww, surprise flowers are always fun :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of the way you paired the pink & red. The black sweater makes everything not clash.
I also found it hard to wear pink and red- I felt VERY girly but I love how you toned it down with the black. How could you not love the holiday with such a beautiful bouquet of flowers :)
ReplyDeleteI love your pink/red combo! And cute sweater!
