Low-key

shirt: old, don't remember, maybe New York & Company?
skirt: The Limited
heels: Target
necklace: InPink
cocktail ring: giveaway win, maybe from Modcloth? don't remember

Sometimes, I really appreciate a low-key evening, even if it's on the weekend. Maybe especially on the weekend, because lately I feel like we've spent so many Fridays out and about. Tonight it's just me, the cat, a bottle of wine and my iTunes getting some much-needed cleanup and updating. Does it make me a complete nerd that I'm completely content to weed through nearly 4,000 songs, deleting stuff I don't listen to anymore and fixing the album title/genre categories for my library? It does? Well, I guess I'm okay with that.

What about you guys? Do you have anything more exciting planned for you this weekend? For your sakes, I kind of hope you do :)

  1. One of the things I've learned in five decades on Earth is that everything comes from perspective: the way we look at things determines what we see. We create meaning.

I add this prefix to explain my perhaps-odd reaction to your post. Your outfit is adorable. To me, it's super-cute. It's the kind of look I dream of in my wildest fantasies.

The fervor of my reaction probably surprises you. I hope it doesn't also unnerve you. To you, this outfit is probably fairly routine. The difference is our perspectives.

A quiet night at home is good after spending time out. I'm alone this weekend (Robin is out-of-town scrapbooking) so I get to create my own fun little world. I filled the house up with groceries to make food, broke out my nail-polish and play-clothes, and plan to make my Halloween costume by hand while watching "Mad Men". Hope you have fun, too.

  3. Your pencil skirt is so cute! What a great colour!!
And I just did that the other day - fixed up all my genres so I could "sort by genre". Once it's done it feels so good!
And I was out last night at a friend's party and I've been having such a low-key day home today.. recovering...
